Your UK Company Needs to Give A Plastic Card to Purchasers

The majority of buyers carry more than one plastic card in their billfolds. Aside from credit cards, UK business proprietors have plastic membership cards, plastic discount cards, plus various other plastic cards for their buyers. The following info is necessary for starting a plastic card program for your organization.

UK Plastic Card : Are There Reasons for Implementing a Plastic Card Program?

The chief intention for employing a printed plastic card is because you are able to accumulate a complete assortment of information your clients need, so that you are able to gear your product or service toward a special group of buyers. Although collecting personal data for these types of membership cards carries some risk, consumers have proven that they feel the benefits far outweigh the risks

Plastic Card : Extra Bases for Using Plastic Cards in Your Organization

Presenting a membership card or a discount card is a wonderful method of promoting repeat business. Really, this sort of a card will have the customers reaction as though they are fortunate because they will be given an entire variety of benefits like reductions which a person with no card wouldn’t be given.

By utilizing a reward card, discount card, or a plastic loyalty card in your organization, you can lessen the sum spent on selling and publicity. Key tags are exceptionally beneficial, in this manner, considering the fact that they are so constantly able to be seen by clients.

Plastic Cards : Magnetic Stripe or Not?

Whether or not a reward card, membership card, or discount are able to use a regular numbering system on the card, the best way to use a plastic card program is to make use of one containing a magnetic stripe or barcode. This allows you to change up your promotions or target a specific customer segment. It will be necessary to use some kind of swiper or scanner on this card.

Companies throughout the UK effectively use plastic card programs to step up the number of customers and the number of sales. Why don’t you try doing that?

Decoupage, 3d decoupage, decoupage crafts, decoupage card, m3D Decoupage. Learn How To Make a Decoupage Card

Decoupage, 3d decoupage, decoupage crafts, decoupage card, m3D Decoupage. Learn How To Make a Decoupage Card

3D Decoupage comes on many levels. If you are a beginner, start with an easy design and build up to more challenging projects. It is possible to create great results early on. There are 3 key skills to master: choosing, cutting and applying. It always saddens me when those who craft look down their noses at those who use Sticky Fixers (sticky pads) to do Decoupage. They think it marks out the men from the boys or the new craft person from the Professional. Having taught crafts for over 20 years now (and taught Teachers who Teach), I do know what they mean, but; and it IS a big but, I am a believer in starting from where you are at. And when you begin, sticky pads are ideal. But let us get down to basics. Having said that there are 3 key stills, the sticky pads come unto the application stages. First it is vital to get the design bit right. It means : – Choosing the right weight of design
- Cutting it carefully
- Separating any paper layers into individual parts With that done you move onto cutting. Some would say this is the most important stage, but I would disagree. All 3 impact on the other. If you choose an inappropriate design for working on you will get a poor result – no matter how great your scissor skills. Equally, if you are great with the old blades but let down at putting it all together, no matter how accomplished your preparation, your assembly will scupper your final result. I am a believer in all skills working together. Start with the end in mind. It does not matter when you are kicking off in Decoupage if you use sticky pads, but if you have got great loads of tab visible, you have not mastered the basics. No sign of assembly (glue or pad) should be visible. It comes down to learning the stages with patience and practice. If you want it, then you will get better. So ignore the nay-sayers who may be ahead of you, because one day you may well overtake them. Go after your 3D Decoupage projects with a passion and you will soon master the essentials.

Card making Bonding

Written by admin

Card making Bonding

I never really have that special bond with my youngest son. He is usually with his friends and when he is home, he is always in front of the computer. I could hardly talk to him. It was hard for me as a mother. I missed the days when he was still all dependent on me. When he would call my name for little things and we would spend some quality time together. Last night, I think my prayers are granted since he actually asked for my help.

My son came up to me and asked me if I could help with his assignment. Apparently, they are assigned a card making activity. They are to make a card for their special someone who would be celebrating their birthday. I agreed to help him, since card making is my cup of tea.

Modesty aside, I am really an expert when it comes to card making. I could easily think of a concept and work on it fast. Although, I am still working my skills on the complicated part of card making like making pop ups and the likes, I believe that my skills in card making is enough to help my son. But then again, I did not allow him to ask me to do all the work. I just guided him all the way so he would also know how to make a card himself.

We brainstormed for the design together, I told him how important thinking about the card design that you are about to make and planning on how you would go about is essential for the card making project. While we were thinking for the kind of card that he wanted to make, I asked him some questions about the card making project. First, I asked him about the materials that he is planning to use. I am quite surprised that he has everything ready. It was indeed very impressive; I never thought that my son could have inherited my card making genes.

I went on asking about the card, to whom will he give it and for what occasion. I was surprised when he told me that he would give it to the most special woman in his life. Admittedly, I was somewhat bothered while we are making the card. The time when our little boy is already having a girlfriend is one of the greatest fears of a mother. It is that time when slowly, you would mean nothing to them. I envy that girl, since I could see in his eyes and action how dedicated he is as he was making the card. I could feel the “labor of love” as he was making the card.

His card making project was already finished in barely an hour and we were so happy. He even told me that he never knew that card making would be that easy and he could come up with something so beautiful. I gave him some time to write the personal message and told him that his card is good to go. It could even be at par with the commercially available cards in the bookstores.

Card making For Your Wedding

Written by admin

Card making For Your Wedding

Sometimes you buy a card because you know nothing about card making. That’s why you will look for the people who are into card making business just to give you the perfect wedding card for your special day.  But if you have skills in card making you will surely have an affordable wedding card for your guests. If you have the skill then you can start planning the design of your wedding card as early as today.

How To Make a Wedding Card

In order for you to start card making, try to look at the different ways to make a wedding card. You may start gathering materials that you can get your hands on. If you are going to use buttons, glitters, beads or whatever material you prefer start gathering them now before the big day approaches. It is better that you are able to prepare well instead of cramming when the wedding day is about to come. Do you need some ribbons, pictures or organic materials? Better be sure that you have all the items you need in card making before you start doing them. If you will not do this then there is a possibility that while you are cutting the paper you will stop just to look for glue or a certain picture because you failed to prepare your materials well.

However, if you are a person who can make good cards under time pressure then, just go with the flow. Cut here and there and come up with an original design. If you’re that kind of person then there is a big chance for you to create a unique and fantastic wedding card after a drastic card making activity. Sometimes this works better than having to stick by the rules in card making or copying after a design with so many instructions therewith.

Beautiful designs

You also need an eye catching design if you want to come up with a perfect card for your wedding. You can include pictures of your favorite valleys or gardens. You may even pattern it after the shape of your favorite flower. You can also use materials for your wedding card from doilies, mesh, feathers, fabric, ribbon or braid. There are no hard-and-fast rules on how to make a truly elegant and beautiful wedding card because handmade cards are truly unique.

If you want to make it personalized then you can begin sketching something on your scratch paper before you begin in order to   help you put some thoughts together.  Even the shading, or coloring in blocks of card will help you balance your ideas on the design, style and contents of the card you are going to send to your invited guests before you move onto the fabric or the paper itself.

Once you are done with the designs and style of your card, you can already decide whether to include the names and the personal details of your guests. You can also think about the means you are going to employ in order for you to incorporate, print or transfer graphics together with other card materials.  This is important because the mixture and the placement of materials are the things which make a card extra special.

Be creative and enjoy your wedding in the company of people you like.

So What Really is a Handmade Card?

Written by admin

So What Really is a Handmade Card?

What exactly is a handmade card? If you buy one what are you looking for? If you make one, how much help do you want? Do you go it alone, or dive into a mix of pre-formed shapes? The Handmade card category is big business “” in both the Craft arena and Greeting Cards and so it covers a variety of card combinations:

1. any hand made -or rather ‘home made’ cards

2. hand-embellished but pre-packaged

3. a card kit that you ‘hand-assembled’ at home.

The breadth of the category makes it more challenging for card retailers to classify for sale stock, but easier for the crafter to pass something essentially shop bought as handmade.

Let’s look at them more fully.

1. The handmade/home-made card

This one gets my thumbs up or rather a thumbs on! Homemade doesn’t mean cheap and tacky. With some excellent courses, books and tutorials out there, there’s no excuse for half-hearted efforts.

This category applies to any hand-made card made from scratch using your own ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. It certainly requires the most inventiveness and the likelihood is that a handmade card – made from either casual or carefully selected materials will be truly individual.

Such handmade cards are made with considerable love and attention and usually treasured by the lucky recipient.

2. The hand-embellished card

Interestingly the greeting card industry considers handmade to cover any ‘hand-assisted’ card, often with ‘proud’ features. That includes (but is not limited to) sequins, felt, glitter, ribbon, beads etc. Think base design, on a quality card stock. This background is then topped with a selection of hand-embellishments: anything from tinted photos to faceted beads.

Many publishers use emotive vocabulary such as ‘embossed, sophisticated and elegant’ – to attract customers to purchase what they (both public and customer) consider one step above the mass market crowd.

3. The card kit

Card kits are increasingly popular with all age groups. You know the thing – a complete set of blank cards and envelopes, with inclusive, inviting little thingummies that you hand assemble to create new. You might get some templates as to layout, or be inventive in laying out your surface additions. Card kits include all the embellishments and card blanks you need to create your own handmade card. Detailed instruction may, or may not be included.

There are a number of advantages to card kits: a. everything (and sometimes this means glue too) is included, ready-to-go b. placement and assembly is directed by the materials. instructions come as standard – so no need to be inventive in your use of the materials – unless you want to.

On the other hand, whilst card kits don’t give you too much freedom of choice they can give you a way into testing your creativity. With a great range of kits to choose from it shouldn’t take long to find the right kind for you. A number of sites and stations have tantalising packages to buy and the immediacy of them makes card making fun.

There’s no reason to lessen your sense of achievement in using card kits and they are often one move up from the hand embellished card, and a pre-cursor to going it alone – in free thinking creativity.

Whatever you opt for, making or giving a handmade card shows your willingness to go the extra mile for something extra special. How much or how little you do, depends on the type of card you buy and how handmade you want your handmade card to be.

Perhaps it comes down to semantics. I often used to equate handmade with homemade which meant (to me) a cheap version of shop bought. What I didn’t know then was that handmade really gives you a chance to shine in your particular avenue of creativity. And if you are an aspiring free thinker then the card kit will naturally impose just one too many restrictions on your ability to go with the flow. If however it allows you, with good conscience to say ‘handmade’ with pride then it has great appeal.

The craft market is in boom time right now and card making is enjoying a high too. Hence the number of card making magazines available marrying these two great trends perfectly.

So handmade need not mean a ‘less than’ card. It certainly shouldn’t. Personally I’d favor handmade over bought. Where you step into the realms of making or buying a handmade card lies in your needs, abilities and pocket.

Choose what’s right for you and give or make a handmade card with pride. It will always single your card giving out from the crowd and say much about how you see the act of giving as well as the art of making.

50 Card Making Sketches

50 Card Making Sketches

If you have ever wanted to create jaw-dropping, eye-popping handmade cards at the drop of a hat (amazing your friends and family with your talent and making them feel cherished by your personalised gift from the heart)…while having fun and expressing your personality… then this will be the most important message you ever read.

Plans are essential in our every day lives. Last time you took a family vacation, you had a plan. You knew where you were going, how you were going to get there and what you were going to take. Sure, you probably made a few minor adjustments along the way – perhaps you took a side trip, made an additional stop or skipped something altogether, but you still had an overall plan. And by having that plan, you didn’t have to constantly stress about all the little decisions along the way, so you had more time to relax and enjoy yourself.

Card making is no different. When you start making a card with a plan, you don’t have to worry about all the tiny little decisions that we often get caught up in. You already know what your overall design will look like (i.e. you know where you are going), the steps you need to take to get there and what supplies you need. So you can focus on having fun.

Having a plan means you have a very specific and clear direction to follow, so you don’t have to sit there staring aimlessly at a blank card for ages. And believe me, I know what that feels like.

I used to think I didn’t have any creative flair at all. I would look around at all the fabulous creations other card makers were making and I just thought that type of creative genius was way out of my reach.

I used to be terrified of making mistakes. That’s why I would stare at my designs for so long before sticking them together. I was even afraid to cut up my pretty patterned papers in case I did the wrong thing and ruined them!

But, the minute you apply a sketch, you can let go of all of that fear and uncertainty. All the hard decisions have already been made for you, leaving you free to just play and have fun.

Card Making Crafts-Transform a Standard Greeting Card in to Classic Memorabilia

Written by admin

Card Making Crafts-Transform a Standard Greeting Card in to Classic Memorabilia

With a little bit of creativity and just a few simple steps, you can easily convert any card with a special meaning to you in to an unforgettable card making craft and keepsake for you or your loved ones.  Here is how you do it.

Recently, my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with all the fanfare and memories that should be afforded a couple that make it to that point in their loving relationship.  They also loved what I was able to do with the announcement I kept from the happy event when I transformed it in to a crafty keepsake and a marvelous card making craft.

You will need the following supplies:  Please keep in mind that you will need extra rub-on lettering in case you make a mistake and have to redo any of the lettering.  You will also want to pick colors that coordinate with your greeting card as noted below.

Greeting card:  For this project I used my parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary announcement. 1 clear acetate sheet:  Must be durable enough that when folded, it can stand up on its own. 1 sheet of decorative scrapbooking paper:  We chose a sheer background with a cream colored floral design. 1 package of letter rub-ons (190 count):  We chose brown to coordinate with the gold anniversary card and cream colored scrapbooking paper. Satin ribbon ½ yard:  We chose a brownish gold color. 1 package of decorative jewelry used for jewelry making:  We chose a gold colored heart shaped pendant with a rhinestone.  The pendant has two openings, which will make it easier to insert the ribbon. Gold cording 1/8  yard Glue adhesive stick 1 package of crafters adhesive foam stickers Scissors Hole puncher 1 card envelope or gift box to protect your card design

Step 1:  Fold plastic acetate sheet in half creating a card base.  Next, center greeting card under your plastic sheet to determine how much of the plastic you want seen once the greeting card is secured in place.  Be sure to leave enough space at the top so that a hole can be punched through the plastic without touching the card underneath.  Remove greeting card and set aside.

Step 2:  Measure and cut scrapbooking paper to cover one side of the plastic.  Next, apply glue adhesive to the back of your decorative scrapbooking paper and position on to the clear plastic acetate in the bottom inside half only.

Step 3:  Apply clear foam stickers to the back of your greeting card, attaching one to each corner of the card.  Once adhesive stickers are secure, carefully insert and attach greeting card to the center of your decorative paper, leaving enough space for a punched hole to be made at the top of the plastic.

Step 4:  Remove and apply rub-on lettering according to package instructions to the top outside area of the clear plastic acetate.  Note: Having your greeting card underneath will help to guide you in placing your rub-on letters.

Step 5:  Using your hole puncher, punch out one hole at the top middle of your clear plastic. Punch a second hole right next to the first one.  Next, fold ribbon in half and loop through the back side of each hole pulling the ribbon up until both ends are even.  Secure with a loose knot.

Step 6:  Thread cording through the heart pendant openings and secure around the ribbon knot.  You are now ready to make a decorative bow, tying the ribbon and allowing the heart pendant to hang loosely as a focal point.  Once your card making project is completed, place your decorative keepsake in a pretty gift box or envelope.  Another idea would be to display your design on a wooden or metal easel.
